The ECA public event takes place in one of the oldest still operating cinemas in Brno, Kino Art. On May 28, there will be a thematic historical walking tour around some of the cinema venues in Brno with explanation of ECA researcher Terezia Porubcanska. The main event will take place on June 1. Kino Art will become cinema Čas for one evening providing audiences with a continuous programme of short films such as documentaries, slapstick shorts and instructional films to simulate film programming in the 1950s. Audiences will also be able to attend a demonstrative screening from a 16mm projector. In the evening, there will be a screening of Císařův pekař-Pekařův císař on 35mm, one of the most popular films in the 1950s in Brno. Terezia Porubcanska will give an introductory lecture to the screening.
