At the Heritage Day in Ghent, Lies Van de Vijver gave a free lecture on the history and memories of the smaller cinemas in the district of the Brugse Poort in Ghent. The lecture was in collaboration with our Cultural partner City Archive Ghent and the local cultural organisation DE KOER, invigorating the neighborhood through accessible cultural events including a neighborhood cinema Ciné Rio. After the talk the visitors were guided past former and current neighbourhood cinemas, meeting the current owners and sharing stories. To close, Rio organised a small poster expo and the historical photograph of Ciné Rio visitors in 1958 was recreated.
